Born in Manchester, UK, in the mid 20th Century, I feel that I was fortunate with the early years educational destinies set out before me and was then fortunate to be offered a place at the Manchester High School of Art. From there I headed to the capital and studied at Hornsey College of Art, London. After four years of First Degree level studies there, I won a place on the Masters Degree course in sculpture at Chelsea School of Art. After 20 years living and practicing in London, I now live and work in Norwich. In between times, I have served as lecturer, curriculum developer and senior manager for a number of Higher Education institutions and more latterly as a senior business support administrator.
Exhibiting installations and related works across the UK
and has also authored articles and literary
reviews. As 'lan C Pilchard', I also spent many
years as a stand•up comedian, MC, DJ, and impresario.
